Playing golf in Cuba means coming into contact with the island's natural beauty. This is particularly true at the Varadero Golf Club, Cuba's first 18-hole championship course, which is located on one of the most breathtaking spots of the Hicacos Peninsula, near what used to be the luxurious residence of the Dupont family. Surrounded by impressive landscapes and a magnificent beach, this is one of several courses in Cuba which organizes open competitions and international golfing events.
Even if you're not a golfer, the clubhouse, in the former Dupont mansion, is well worth visiting. Overlooking the beach, it is the ideal place to enjoy a drink after a day of sightseeing, as is the elegant French-styled restaurant inside. |
