Troupe from Valencia to dance in Havana

The Ballet de Teatres de la Generalitat, a dance troupe from Valencia, will soon travel to the Cuban capital to stage El amor brujo (Bewitching Love) as part of the 21st Havana International Ballet Festival, to be held from October 28 to November 6 this year.

Artists to gather funds for the reconstruction of Gibara

The death of Cuban filmmaker Humberto Solás last week shook the world of cinema. The news were made public shortly after Holguin’s northern city of Gibara, venue of Cuba’s International Low Budget Film Festival, was devastated by hurricane Ike. Today, a group of Cuban artists seek to gather funds to give Gibara back its cinematographic spirit and to reconstruct a city where key works of Solás, such as Lucía and Miel para Ochún, were filmed.
